The innovative LitePac system, used by Fonti Pineta, provides that the traditional six 1.5-liter bottles are wrapped by a ring-shaped strap ring in a horizontal position, to which another vertical strapping is applied that acts as a handle. The latter is made of polypropylene (PP), a softer material, so as to allow easy and convenient transport; the horizontal band is instead made of polyester (PET), a very resistant material.
The aim of Fonti Pineta is to reduce the plastic in the packaging: on a pallet made up of 96 bundles the weight of the outer packaging is only 286 g. instead of 1920 g., with a reduction of 85% of the material used; 12.4% of the energy used for packaging is also saved.
Therefore, without affecting the practicality and comfort of the PET bottle, we have tried to respect the environment more, avoiding the waste of resources.
